The Performance Management Profile System (PMPS) Assessment Package helps mid- and upper-level managers identify their greatest strengths and most pressing improvement needs in the four key activities comprising the performance management process: Setting Objectives, Giving Feedback, Coaching and conducting Performance Appraisal meetings. Feedback results are presented in bar graph form with comparisons made between a manager's Self scores and summarized Other scores, and a manager's Self scores versus a set of national norms. In addition, significant differences are identified between a manager's Self scores and summarized Other scores. Lastly, two sets of highest and lowest scores are provided. One set lists a manager's highest and lowest scores based on results from the Other questionnaires. The second set indicates which results from the Self questionnaires are high and low compared to the national norm.
The PMPS Assessment Package also features:
- Diagnostic questions designed to help managers think about what they need to do differently to improve their performance in areas where their summarized Other scores are significantly lower than their Self scores, or where their Self scores are low compared to the national norm.
- Background reading to help managers better understand the importance of the dimensions measured in each questionnaire, with references to research documenting the importance of performing each dimension well.
- Improvement ideas managers can incorporate into a personal improvement plan in order to shore up areas where their Other scores are significantly lower than their Self scores, or where their Self scores are significantly below the national norm.
- Personal Improvement Planning Guide to help managers create a personal improvement plan detailing the changes or improvements the manager intends to make.
- Personal Improvement Planning Discussion Guide for use by the person designated as the manager's coach or mentor to hold a series of structured discussions with the manager in order to: 1) help the manager gain further insight into his or her feedback results; 2) motivate the manager to complete and implement his or her improvement plan; and 3) serve as a sounding board to help the manager reality test whether he or she has improved in a particular area.
Designed for: Mid- and upper-level managers with performance management responsibilities
Multiple uses:
